Culver City CA Education
Culver City Unified School District is host to five elementary schools, and one of each Middle, High, Continuation and Adult schools. The mission of the district is to have “a diverse haven of excellence, is to ensure that each student possesses the academic and personal skills necessary to achieve his/her highest potential as a valued, responsible member of society by providing challenging, personalized educational experiences in a safe, nurturing environment and by fostering a passion for teaching and learning with committed parent and community involvement.” One of the most interesting schools in the district is the El Marino Language School, whose primary focus is blending English, Spanish and Japanese speaking students and teaching in both English and one of the two other primary languages. Spanish and Japanese speaking students will learn in both their native language and English, and English speaking students will be taught in both their native language and either Japanese or Spanish. The school is open to students from K-5 grades. The Culver City schools offer specialized programs in academics, sports, arts, gifted and special education, and offer before and after school programs. The students in Culver City Unified School district are offered a safe place to learn, are exposed to an array of culture and diversity and are encouraged to succeed on every level.
